Oxfam is implementing a greenhouses project in Zaatari camp. Four greenhouses are already in place, plus a water dam, to water the plants allocated in the 8th District of Zaatari camp. The project involves women, especially the most vulnerable, as women alone to support them with an income generated through their participation in weekly agriculture training sessions.
Many Syrian women where working in agriculture back in Syria. This project allows them to apply what they know and pass on these skills to others. Today, 44 women are part of to the project. They will be able to earn a small income by selling the product of their harvest and distributing money equally amongst them.
Oxfam has provided Salam’s family with a water tank and toilets. It has facilitate their daily life in the camp. This family of two parents and five children come from a city nearby the border called Dara’a. Salam is a really bright child who loves to go to school and benefit from different educational programs within the camp.
